Our Story

When I got my first dog, Maddie, while I was in college, I realized I never wanted her spending her vacations in a traditional boarding facility. I wanted someone to care for her the way I would—inside a home, surrounded by kindness, comfort, and plenty of attention.

I quickly realized I couldn't be the only person who felt that way.
So, I created the kind of place I had always hoped to find for Maddie: a peaceful, kennel-free home where dogs are treated like family.

Hi, I’m Jenny Van Nooijen, and my husband, Eric, and I both have a deep rescue and animal care background.

Today, that dream is our peaceful 5-acre ranch in Dulzura, California, where we welcome a small number of guest dogs into our home. We live here full-time, and every day we focus on getting to know each dog’s personality and needs. Whether it’s a walk in the morning, a quiet afternoon nap, or plenty of playtime, we make sure each stay feels safe, comfortable, and full of love.

Our Services

Kennel-Free Dog Boarding

Boarding Rates

First Dog – $70 per day
Includes a full day of care and an overnight stay.

Additional Family Dogs – $35 per day, per sibling

Half-Day Boarding – $40
Available at the beginning and end of trips when only a partial day of care is needed.

No Holiday Surcharges
Your rate stays the same year-round. your dog stays with us, they're welcomed into our home—not a kennel.

At Pet Stays & Plays, we offer personalized, kennel-free boarding in a calm, home environment where every dog is cared for as one of our own. By intentionally keeping our guest list small, we're able to provide the individual attention, supervision, and companionship every guest deserves.

Days are filled with fresh air, supervised play, plenty of time to explore, relaxing indoor naps, and cozy nights spent inside our home. We follow your dog's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special care they may need.

Every dog is different. Whether your pup is playful, shy, a senior, or simply enjoys a quiet place to relax, we take the time to understand their unique personality and help them feel safe, comfortable, and completely at home throughout their stay.

Doggie Daycare

Daycare Rates

First Dog – $60 per day

Additional Family Dogs – $30 per day, per sibling

Half-Day Daycare – Available upon request.

Cat Boarding

Cat Boarding at Pet Stays & Play

  • $45 per day

  • $35 per day when boarding alongside your dog (our sibling rate)

Looking for a cozy, stress-free place for your cat while you're away? At Pet Stays & Plays, we provide a peaceful, home-style environment where your feline companion can relax, feel safe, and receive personalized care every day.

Many of our dog boarding clients love the convenience of having both their dog and cat cared for in one place. It makes travel easier and gives you peace of mind knowing all of your pets are receiving the same loving, personalized care. When your cat is boarding with your dog, our $35 sibling rate is honored.
